Is the boy band back in business? NLT hopes so. Their debut album, Not Like Them, is about to drop and their single, That Girl, is climbing up the charts. We sat down to chat with all four members of NLT to talk about their first-ever concert and how that influenced their musical ambitions!
Sindy: What was the first concert you ever went to?
JJ: For me, I think Britney Spears was the first concert I ever went to.
Kevin: I'm pretty sure it was the Backstreet Boys Millennium Tour.
Travis: It would probably be *NSYNC.
V: Ha! It was probably S Club 7.
Sindy: Where was it?
JJ: : For me, it was in LA.
Kevin: I went in Dallas, which is where I'm from.
Travis: I went in San Antonio. Man, it's funny that all of our influences were these big pop groups. No surprise then that now we're in a boy band!
V: And mine was at the Staples Center in LA.
Sindy: How was the show?
JJ: It was pretty good. It was pretty amazing. Your first time seeing that kind of thing, is pretty cool.
Kevin: I think it was good for all of us to see big pop concerts, because they're so over-done and just huge.
Travis: Yeah, just to see an *NSYNC concert - man, that's just one of the best shows you could see in your life.
V: And I think seeing that sort of thing puts an exclamation point on all of us knowing that this is what we want to do.
Sindy: Who did you go with?
JJ: I think I went with my mom and my sisters because they were in love with Britney too.
Kevin: I think it was exactly the same - I went with my mom and my sister and maybe a couple of friends.
Travis: I went with my family - my parents and my sister.
V: I went with my brother and some of my friends too.
Sindy: Did that first show inspire you to want to become a musician more?
JJ: Totally.
Kevin: Seeing them do what they do is really inspiring, and shows you where you want to be at.
Travis: I was a little young when I when I went to *NSYNC, but later - when I was a little older - I went to a Britney concert and, while everyone was screaming, I was just sitting back thinking "I could really see myself doing this".
V: I was definitely studying what they're doing and just being really impressed.
