Well, we learned a lot about the crew this time 'round. Keith is a putz, Elisabeth's mom was sick, Rodger can't remember things and in the end, Colby wants to sit next to someone he hates.
Could you spend hours silently staring at a fire? Well, this Survivor crew made it clear that sometimes, it's all you can do. Boredom and loneliness play a bigger role than hunger in this episode. Everyone misses their families. Which would explain why everyone cries like babies when the luxury challenge involves instant messaging with family members. You'd think that Elisabeth (who signed her note home: love, Bessy) would have been the big cry-baby but that honor went to Rodger - followed closely by Colby. Yep, that big hunk of Texas cowboy is a mama's boy. In the end, Tina wins the chance to talk for thirty minutes to her family and buy them something nice thanks to Visa. Keith however, couldn't lose the spotlight and ends up proposing to his girlfriend online. She says yes.
Back at camp Colby, who has managed to keep his cool the entire time (even with Jerri) loses it. He freaks on Keith who is cooking too much rice. Seems like the chef has been ignoring their rations and both Elisabeth and Colby are ticked off. Colby says that he has broken his alliance with Keith - and I believe him.
The immunity challenge brings in the history of Australia. Barramundi has to listen to Jeff tell a story about Australia that has a whole bunch of facts, then they have to answer questions. They did a similar challenge last season as well. (What's with the repeat challenges?!) Both this season and last season the two old-timers proved on thing: old people don't listen very well. Just like Rudy last time, Rodger can't answer any of the questions. The twist with this challenge was that for each right answer they get a key that will undo one of their shackles. When they are done they have to bring all five locks and chains to Jeff. Wouldn't ya know it - Keith is first. But he drops a lock in the tall grass running over to Jeff and can't find it. Colby gets to Jeff with all five locks. Gee, maybe they should just surgically attached the immunity idol to his neck.
Tina, is totally confident that she isn't going down anytime soon and actually asks Rodger who should be voted off first: him or Elisabeth? Rodger, in true Dad fashion, says they should vote him off first because Elisabeth's family has medical bills. Her mom has survived breast cancer. And sadly, they do vote off Rodger.
Colby made a comment as they walked to Tribal Council that he had to decide if, in the end, he wanted to be sitting beside someone who deserved to win the money as much as him or someone who would guarantee that he become a millionaire. Since Colby voted for Rodger I can only assume that he is betting that keeping Keith around might help him win a million. Afterall people like Colby better than Keith. I think that was Kelly's strategy for keeping Richard Hatch around and look how well that worked out.
