A nasty looking nanny uses magic to control the behavior of seven bratty little kids in the movie, Nanny McPhee!
Nanny McPhee - Nasty Nanny, Bratty Kids
Nanny McPhee is a flick based on the Nurse Matilda book series by Christianna Brand. The movie tells the story of the recently widowed Mr. Brown (played by Colin Firth) and his attempts to control his incredibly bratty children, who have already managed to drive away 17 nannies with their exceedingly bad behavior. While the children are busy tying up the family's cook, having food fights, and pretending to have the measels, the mysterious and ugly looking Nanny McPhee (played by Emma Thompson) arrives and things begin to change.
Nanny McPhee - Magical Mayhem
As the wart covered, mole-infested, snaggletoothed Nanny McPhee starts to take control using a magical walking stick, the behavior of the vile Brown children quickly changes, as they realize that messing with the nasty new Nanny results in serious consequences. But just as the Brown family appears to be settling down, a letter arrives for Mr. Brown from his Aunt Adelaide, telling him that if he doesn't remarry within a month, she'll cut off the stipend that the family's been depending on for years. Without that extra cash, Mr. Brown will be forced to go to debtor's prison and the children will be off to orphanages.
Nanny McPhee - Remarry Or Else!
With Mr. Brown trying to tie the knot with the first female that has a pulse, things don't look good for the kids. As the eldest child Simon puts it: "Fathers all turn bad after their wives die. They don't care anymore. Whoever he marries will be vial and treat us like slaves." Will the children be forced to live a life of slavery under a treacherous new step-mother? Or can Nanny McPhee help the kids and Mr. Brown find a happy new life?

Nanny McPhee - Bottom Line
Nanny McPhee is a fun and smart film with good special effects and several super cool food fights. The Brown children, especially Simon (Thomas Sangster), are quite funny - and the make-up people do a great job of transforming Emma Thompson into the nasty-looking Nanny McPhee. Some of you might find this movie doesn't have enough action in it, but you'll definitely leave the movie with several new ways of driving your parents, teachers and other authority figures insane.
