Game Store Shutdown and Batman Toys

Dec 27, 2006

Wizards of the Coast is the name of a game company that makes some of your fave card games, miniature games and other games. They used to be the peeps behind the Pokemon card game, and they're still making Magic: The Gathering, Neopets, The Simpsons and their upcoming Duel Masters card games. If that's not enough gaming fun, Wizards also makes the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures game, the Star Wars Role Playing Game and a ton of cool fantasy novels.

Wizards' Game Store Shutdown Facts

The stores that are shutting down are the Wizards of the Coast game stores and The Game Keeper game stores. They've announced the shutdown, but they won't be finished closing them down until the end of February 2004. The reason for the shutdown is so that Wizards can focus on making newer, cooler, games for everyone to play.

Wizards' Game Store Shutdown Bad News

The bad news is that these stores used to carry a ton of games, plus have space where you could play all your fave games. When they shut down, you'll have to find a new place to play your fave games and have tournaments.

Wizards' Game Store Shutdown Good News

The good news is that Wizards is going to keep making their awesome games so you'll be seeing more Magic cards, Dungeons & Dragons games and the new Duel Masters cards before too long. Plus, there should be all kinds of sales! Check with a store near you and see if they're clearing out any of their games - it'll let you score a ton of cheap collectible cards, books, and games!
