Dear Dish-It,
Okay, there is this boy named Vern. He is what you might call my number one crush. But, I just moved here about seven months ago, and started a new school district. Anyway, I was going out with a boy named Mark, but Vern is my true love. I broke up with Mark because Vern said that he would go out with me for one day because I told him that I liked him. So, now Mark is really mad and jealous of Vern. Vern really doesn't like me but I feel that he is the one. I am the only girl in the whole junior high who likes him. How do I get him to notice? And, how do I get him to like me?
The Fighter
Dear The Fighter,
So, let me get this straight - you are crazy about a boy at school who wants nothing to do with you? And, when he told you he'd go out with you for one day, you dumped your boyfriend? Does that seem like a smart move? What could you possibly get out of a one-day relationship with a guy who doesn't even like you? I would tell you to just get back together with your boyfriend Mark, but that doesn't seem fair to him. You stomped all over his heart and then you're annoyed when he gets upset. I don't think your problem is how to get Vern to notice you - it's how can you learn to treat other people with more respect. You might think this Vern guy is the one, but it's clear he doesn't want anything to do with you, so just let it be. You can't force people to like you or feel the same way as you do. Instead, focus on being nicer to the peeps who actually care about ya!
So, ya gotta burnin' question? Need some love directions? Thinkin' 'bout stuff like depression, sex,how ya feel 'bout YOURSELF (that's called "self-esteem"), boyfriends, girlfriends, losin' old friends, bullyin' or peer pressure, but too scared to ask the parents? Don't be scared to .
