Mummy hot dogs

These will fill you up—And they look kind of cute, too!  Get an adult to help you with the oven, if needed.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package hot dogs
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • Mustard in a squeeze bottle

Here’s how TraderJoes.com suggests you make these:

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough. Press together diagonal perforations.
  3. Cut each rectangle lengthwise into 6 (1/2-inch) strips.
  4. Wrap these dough “bandages” around hot dog to cover entirely. Spread open a gap near one end for the “eyes”.
  5. I cut the hot dogs in half to create mini-mummies and used 2 strips per mummy.
  6. Place on baking sheet; line with foil or parchment paper for best results.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes then add eyes using yellow mustard.

Spider Snacks

These cute little spiders require hardly any effort, and there’s so many ways you can do them!  One way includes taking a mini donut and pressing the curved parts of pretzels into the sizes of it for “legs.”  You can use candies like M&M’s to make eyes, sticking them on with a bit of peanut butter or cream cheese.

Out of donuts?  Use sandwich crackers and pretzel sticks for the bodies and legs, and raisins for the eyes.
