What will you do for Dad this year on Father’s Day? Celebrate his awesomeness on Sunday, June 20th by spending some quality time with him and choosing a meaningful card and/or gift. Stumped on ideas? Think about what Dad loves to do, and include activities and gifts related to that. Still need help? Kidzworld has got you covered!
10 Ways to Celebrate Dad
- Make him a big, hearty breakfast. Have it ready when he wakes up. (But don’t wake him up! Let him sleep in if he wants to.)
- Play a game with him in the backyard. Ideas include catch, cornhole, a family baseball game, or bocce.
- Have a Father’s Day movie night. Let him pick the movie(s). Star Wars marathon anyone?
- Go to a car show. If your dad is into classic cars, he’ll be in heaven at one of these shows. Many communities are having socially-distanced car shows on Father’s Day weekend this year. Check and see if yours is!
- Plan a picnic at a local park. Pack some his favorite foods.
- Have a backyard barbecue and cook his favorite meat. Get someone to help you with the grill. You can also buy him some grill tools or spices for gifts.
- If your dad likes the outdoors, go fishing, hiking, or for a bike ride (even if you don’t feel like it!).
- Do that chore he’s been asking you to do that you keep putting off! While you’re at it, why not ask him if there’s anything else he’d like you to help him with around the house?
- Wash or clean out dad’s car for him. Ask for help from other family members if you need to.
- Ask Dad ahead of time how he’d like to spend the day, and then help make that happen! Enlist Mom’s or another sibling’s help.
