After a bit of a wait, we finally know when Luigi’s next ghost-filled adventure will be available to enjoy. We got a lot of new information for the game during E3 2019, but the release date wasn’t quite ready to be shown off just yet. Luckily, it is coming at the best possible time, where ghosts and ghouls will be out plenty on none other than Halloween, October 31st this year.

Everything We Know So Far

This new Luigi’s Mansion game looks to be a big step from the other games in the series. The mansion, as mentioned in the title is out, being replaced by a massive spooky hotel filled with ghosts that capture Luigi’s friends Mario, Princess Peach, and the Toads. He must use the new Poltergust G-00 to suck up ghosts and save his friends while tackling puzzles and taking on big boss ghosts. The Poltergust has new moves like the Slam, Suction Shot, and Burst that opens up new ways to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. The 3DS version of the original Luigi’s Mansion introduced Gooigi, Dr. E. Gadd’s gooey version of Luigi that opens up whole new possibilities of exploration and puzzle-solving. Googi allows Luigi to enter new rooms and cross obstacles that he wouldn’t normally be able to, as well as being able to be controlled by a friend in coop play. Speaking of coop, the ScareScraper is an all-new attraction to Luigi’s Mansion 3. The new mode allows you and three friends to tackle ghost-filled challenge rooms together and compete for points. There are plenty of fresh new changes and additions to make Luigi’s Mansion 3 a game to keep your eye on for some Halloween gaming.

The Best Halloween Games

If October rolls around and you need some spooky gaming stat, there are plenty of great games that would fit the theme of the holiday perfectly. A remake of PlayStation’s classic game MediEvil is also coming this October 25th, bringing plenty of skeletons, zombies, pumpkin monsters and demonic hordes to battle in true Halloween fashion. Favorites like the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, Slender, Amnesia, and the upcoming Ghostbusters: The Video Game remaster mean there are plenty of games to fit the Halloween mood no matter what your taste in games might be. Classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil are still just as fun (and scary) today, but unfortunately one of the best example of horror in video games, P.T., is no longer available to download. Of course, there is no better time to check out the other Luigi’s Mansion games as well, both of which are available on the Nintendo 3DS.
