You may know of the 2017 movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, or even the 1995 original, but you likely haven't heard about Jumanji: The Video Game considering it was just announced today. Fortunately, our friends over at Outright Games have passed along plenty of awesome screenshots and a new trailer to kickoff the unveiling of their latest project.
Returning to the Jungle
The team over at Outright Games has had their hands in a few video game adaptations. They'd recently put out a video game based on the UglyDolls movie and they impressed us with their take on the How to Train Your Dragon films with Dragons: Dawn of New Riders. So it's a pretty safe bet that Jumanji is in good hands with this London-based developer/publisher. Bringing back the characters from the recent film, it looks like players will be teaming up in a cooperative adventure where things are a bit different every time you play. The teaser trailer, which you can check out for yourself below, is pretty llight on details but it gives you a taste of how the game will look and does a decent job of capturing the look of the characters from the film.

Playing either online with friends or alone with AI taking control of your companions, Jumanji is looking to bring the some classic video game collecting onto modern game consoles. Here's a light summary of the game and expected features, courtesy of the developer themselves:

Teaming up with your friends seems to be the center of the experience.
Seeing the Sights
We also were able to snag a slew of screenshots to show off the new game with most of the images showing off Dr. Bravestone, played in the film by the beloved Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

You'll choose from 1 of the 4 characters to play as.
TEAM UP –In online or split-screen modes, work together with up to three friends or AI teammates to defeat enemies, survive deadly traps, and save the world
Tackling temples with your friends is supposed to offer new challenges each time you play.
DANGEROUS LOCATIONS –The world of Jumanji gets bigger with beautiful but deadly new mountain, city and jungle environments
Conquering puzzles could be as threatening as the game's enemies, we'll have to wait to see more.
ENDLESS ADVENTURE –As you hone your skills and strategies, and unlock new outfits and weapon styles, no two rounds of Jumanji are ever the same!
Interstingly, the game is officially described as a "3rd Person PvE Action Shooter" which conjures up visuals of an Uncharted-type adventure. Will there be tight shooting and platforming? We'll have to wait and see for more details but at the moment we know the game is planned to release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 15th, 2019.
