Mike Metzger is a pioneer and innovator in the sport of motocross. He's the creator of dozens of today's wildest, freestyle motocross tricks. He's always trying out bigger and better stunts that defy gravity, and imagination, and he's a regular on the podium at the X Games and Gravity Games. Mike Metzger's innovations in the sport have earned him the nickname, The Godfather. On July 2, 2002, Mike became the first rider to land a ramp-to-dirt backflip on a full-sized bike.

Mike's Medical Visits
It's no surprise that Mike Metzger's made several trips to the hospital for some serious injuries. Over his career as a motocross rider, Mike has broken his back three times, both his femurs and his arms and legs several times.

Mike has a wife named Mandi and they have one child together. According to Mike, his wife "is good, she puts up with my crap, she enjoys motocross, that's a bonus right there. Plus, she's beautiful."
