Voice Acting with Teen Titans GO! to the Movies

Jul 11, 2018

In celebration of the release Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, Kidzworld visited Warner Bros. Studios to see a little cinema magic.

Thanks to the Teen Titans, we were able to go behind the scenes at a real life movie studio to find out how the film was made and attends their very own movie premiere with our fave heroes in attendance.

Voice Acting Action

In the morning before the screening, we explored a real voice acting recording studio on the lot and got to voice Starfire in a clip from the movie. Through the art of voice acting, we learned the art of performing to bring our favorite character to life. It was super fun to be one of the show’s most awesome heroines in a cool moment of the film where she and the gang help Robin in his mission to get a movie made about him. The experience was super cool and we got coached in performing for one of our favorite shows and now movie!

How the Magic Happens

In animated films and TV you often watch the scene play out and wait for three beeps to signal your cue. On the third beat you speak the lines and are able to try different things to create your own unique performance.

Voice actors like the ones who provide the voices to the Teen Titans are able to show up to the recording booth wearing cozy clothes. This job isn’t as high maintenance as on screen acting. Many show up in pajamas which makes it one of the best jobs in the world and the more voices you can do the better. Whether it’s similar voices to character like Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg or members of the Justice League like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman or Aquaman. All voices big and small can find fun characters to undertake. It is hard work but more focused on performance and showing a big range of emotions for all kinds of characters!

Superhero Red Carpet

After our session we went to the real theater that the theater in the film was based on on the real life lot the movie animated. Series developers Michael Jelenic,  Aaron Horvath, director/series producer Peter Rida Michail, voice actors from the film were in attendance and the movie was introduced by the Teen Titans themselves!

After the film, we got to take part in a big bash on the lot with music, lots of food and ice cream. Seriously, there were so many types of ice cream everyone was on a sugar high. Even the Teen Titans came back out to meet fans and take pictures on their red carpet!

About the Movie

When Robin learns that almost every hero in the DC Universe gets their own film, the Teen Titans band together to help him get his own movie made. Even the Batmobile and Alfred got a movie! But unlike Batman and Superman, Robin and his friends aren’t taken seriously enough for a movie. They track down big Hollywood director Jade Wilson, who rejects their attempts at super stardom. Tired of being seen as jokes, the Titans go out to make a name for themselves and find a nemesis of their own in the mysterious Slade. But when they find out about a crazy plot to use the heroes by controlling them, they realize that maybe a movie isn’t worth making if there’s no one left on Earth to watch it!
