A Look At Christmas In Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Universal Studios transports Harry Potter fans to places they once only imagined between the pages of a book inside their Wizarding World lands. This holiday season both the Hollywood and Orlando theme park resorts recreate the magic of Christmas in a big way just like you pictured from reading the series or watching the Harry Potter films.

Entering the World

The all-new holiday experience feels just like what we see in the films and in many cases tastes just like you thought it would too. Carts abound with frozen butterbeer at the tap and for chilly weather, warm butterbeer is available as part of the offerings as you make your way through a holiday decorated Hogsmeade.

Hogsmeade Holidays

Iconic buildings lined with lights and wreaths surround you. On the way to Hogwarts for a daring adventure with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, you can see performances by the holiday frog choir and take a look at carts with witches and wizards ready to pair you with your very own wand before you embark on the ride. The queue itself is just like walking around the grounds of the legendary Wizarding school with lots of Easter eggs scattered about like potted mandrakes and Snape’s pensive. You even get to walk by Dumbledore’s office and have the characters interact with you. The ride itself is one of the best immersive theme park attractions with state of the art tech that puts you in the world of the movie and gets you face to face with the heroes and villains in exciting and chilling ways.

In the evenings as the sun sets, the Wizarding World becomes illuminated with twinkling lights & music from the films echo throughout. You can meander about to see a lot of small details from the films and cast spells with your very own wands in special areas. The shoppes like Gladrags Wizardwear, Honeydukes, Dervish and Banges have iconic keepsakes like Golden Snitches, Chocolate Frogs, Time Turners, Harry and Ron’s Christmas sweaters. At the Owl Post you can also meet your own feathered friend to bring home with you. One of the most important things to do of course is be paired with your very own wand by the expert witches and wizards inside Ollivanders.

A Hogwarts Christmas

The main attraction for their holiday season is an amazing light show projected onto Hogwarts castle. Set to John Williams’ Harry Potter Score and wizarding world holiday music, the castle bursts with color. The ghosts of Christmas within the school come to life, moments from the Yule Ball are seen, Hedwig takes flight and the joy of Christmas envelops the land. It’s truly a sight to behold.

Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a definite must see for fans of all ages. It recreates the warm fuzzy feelings of holidays with the Harry Potter gang that we wanted to be a part of in the books and films. What makes it even better is that you can share and bask in the magic with friends and family. The experience will last until January 7^th but we hope it comes back next year with even more from the world we love!
