Every month Sony and Microsoft release a slew of "free" games on their respective platforms if you are already paying for an online subscription for either company. You don't need the newest console to take part as both PlayStation Plus and Xbox's Games With Gold offer games on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (and even PlayStation Vita.)
The New Games of PlayStation Plus
Starting Tuesday, November 7th you can get these upcoming games for free if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription.
- Worms Battlegrounds (PlayStation 4)
- Bound (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR)
- R-Type Dimensions (PlayStation 3)
- Rag Doll: Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic (PlayStation 3)
- Dungeon Punks (PlayStation Vita, Cross-Buy with PlayStation 4)
- Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse (PlayStation Vita)
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR Required)
PlayStation Plus Free PS4 Games Lineup November 2017
Whew, this PlayStation Plus train had to throw on the brakes at some point. This month certainly isn't bad but it's nothing compared to the insane offerings we saw over the last three months. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain last month, InFamous: Second Son before that, and Just Cause 3 to kick off this triple threat. This month offers games that don't necessarily go above and beyond but they're exactly what you would expect from the service.
Worms is one of the earliest franchises to hook me into gaming in my younger years so this excuse to return with to the turn based fights of Worms with Worms Battlegrounds. The game takes place on a 2D plane while players take control of cartoon-y worms with high pitched voices, comically simple names, and absurd weapons including sheep. I'm also totally on board for any game from the service that's family friendly and Worms Battlegrounds is awesomely rated E10+ by the ESRB just like the next big offering, Bound. Bound was developed by the prestigious Sony Santa Monica studio and is a gorgeous 3rd person adventure featuring a dancing protagonist, word is that you'll also be able to enjoy this game with PSVR. There's also an Until Dawn game for PSVR to replace RIGS but it's sadly an M rated adventure.
The New Game of Xbox's Games With Gold
Since Wednesday, November 1st you can access the first wave of games on Xbox One and Xbox 360 if you have a Gold subscription on Xbox.
- Trackmania Turbo (Xbox One)
- Nights into Dreams (Xbox 360 & Backwards Compatible on Xbox One)
The second wave of games begins on Thursday, November 16th.
- Tales from the Borderlands (Xbox One)
- Deadfall Adventures (Xbox 360 & Backwards Compatible on Xbox One)
Xbox - November 2017 Games with Gold
Trackmania Turbo is a thrilling racer with an incredibly detailed track designer, you'll see some of the craziest videos in gaming made with this game so this is an awesome chance to take a crack at it yourself. Nights into Dreams is a game from a series that really rose to prominence in the Dreamcast era, personally I'm not much of a fan of the gameplay, but the vibe of the game is instantly recognizable.
Tales from the Borderlands is Telltale's take on Gearbox's Borderlands world but it's also worth noting that this is an M rated game, so check with your parents before playing. Finally, Deadfall Adventure, is another M-rated game that's a first person shooter that released to middle of the road reviews, I'd stay away from this game for multiple reasons, sadly.
My Winner This Month:
I'm going to throw up a tie this month. While I love Worms that's the only game I'm really excited for on PlayStation and on Xbox I'm only hyped for the new Trackmania. Hey, they can't all be winners.
