The Best Games to Play this Summer
This has been a killer summer to sit down with some big games, here are my top recommendations for the best games to play while trying to beat the heat. These games are sure to keep you busy until it's time to head back to school.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe takes the best and makes it better. The original's awesome collection of courses, characters, and customization are only enhanced by Smart Steering and the welcomed return of Battle Mode. If you're a Switch owner you'd be doing yourself a disservice by ignoring the new gold standard in kart racers, Nintendo or otherwise."
LEGO City Undercover
"If anyone asks me which LEGO game to play I'm going to recommend LEGO CITY Undercover every time. This doesn't just feel like a reskin of the licensed LEGO games but a real evolution of TT Games' talents. Now I just hope we get another one to follow this rerelease of a 4-year-old game."
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
"The bar has been raised for what a remake/remaster can be. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is the most well-made remaster I've ever played, by including the challenge and mistakes of the original this is truly the best way to enjoy the best outings of Crash. If you're looking a family-friendly, albeit fairly challenging, video game than you couldn't do much better than this."
Horizon Zero Dawn
"I love Horizon Zero Dawn. It's probably the best RPG I've ever played, as crazily hyperbolic that sounds. When I play games like Skyim, Fallout, or The Witcher, I love the freedom and depth of the world but the gameplay often holds them back with boring combat and dated controls. Horizon bucks the trend that an RPG will control poorly and injects life into the genre."
