Every month Sony and Microsoft release a slew of "free" games on their respective platforms if you are already paying for an online subscription for either company. You don't need the newest console to take part either as both PlayStation Plus and Xbox's Games With Gold offer games on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (and even PlayStation Vita.)
The New Games of PlayStation Plus
Starting Tuesday, April 4th you can get these upcoming games for free if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription.
- Drawn to Death (PlayStation 4)
- Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (PlayStation 4)
- Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom (PlayStation 3)
- Alien Rage - Extended Edition (PlayStation 3)
- 10 Second Ninja (PlayStation Vita, Cross Buy with PlayStation 4)
- Curses 'n Chaos (PlayStation Vita, Cross Buy with PlayStation 4)
If you're using PlayStation Plus to fuel your PlayStation 4's library you'll be in for a great month, but if you're gaming on a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita you won't be nearly as thrilled this April.
Drawn to Death is a third person shooter from famed game developer David Jaffe's new studio: The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency -- which has a much more interesting name than the game they're creating. This multiplayer shooter was initially going to launch as a free-to-play game but after reevaluating their release it seems as if the company has opted for a standard release that is kickstarted by PlayStation Plus. And a quick heads up: this game is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime was on Xbox Games with Gold back in February. An indie puzzler, platformer, shoot-em-up with a bright style that came as quickly as it went. It's a stylish game that didn't quite stick with Xbox gamers, maybe it'll find more success on PlayStation Plus? Check out it's trailer below.

The New Game of Xbox's Games With Gold
Since Saturday, April 1st you can access the first wave of games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, if you have a Gold subscription on Xbox.
- Ryse: Son of Rome (Xbox One)
- Darksiders (Xbox 360 & Backwards Compatible on Xbox One)
The second wave of games begins on Sunday, April 16th.
- The Walking Dead: Season 2 (Xbox One)
- Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Xbox 360 & Backwards Compatible on Xbox One)
Xbox Games With Gold - March 2017 Trailer
Once again, I've got another heads up: each of the games coming to Xbox One on April are rated M for Mature. But I won't deny that they're all pretty good games. Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title with mixed reviews that I really loved during its initial release. Darksiders is a Zelda-inspired action adventure game that developed a cult following on the original Xbox 360.
The Walking Dead: Season 2 comes hot on the heels of episode 3 of season 3 hitting the store. Though not as prolific as the original season, The Walking Dead: Season 2 extended the story of Clementine. Assassin's Creed: Revelations was the final story in the Ezio trilogy of Assassin's Creed games, while not as revered as 2 or Brotherhood it was a fitting send off for an iconic protagonist.
My Winner This Month:
Sorry to Drawn to Death, that game seems interesting but it can't compete with the awesome lineup coming to Xbox. I would turn on each game on Games with Gold, especially the pair of Xbox One games, but I wouldn't pursue any of the PlayStation Plus games that aren't Drawn to Death. Xbox is the clear winner this month.
