Sony has made themselves well known for their killer E3 press conferences and they've arguably made their console as successful as it is today. If rumors are true we may be seeing the return of Crash Bandicoot, a new Spider-Man game, and a look at the next big game from Rockstar Games. Let's check out the highlights.
Kratos Returns
The show started off with a bang. God of War is coming to PlayStation 4 with a Nordic focus rather than than the Greek mythology we've come to associate with the series. The exciting thing about this change of pace isn't just the return of Kratos but the addition of a child into his life. This seems to be his son, but nothing has been totally confirmed yet.
God of War was easily one of the most impressive looking games at the show and a killer start to Sony's conference. No release date was given, but we can assume for a 2017 release.
Sony Bend Finally Reveals Days Gone
Though rumors have been circulating for weeks about Sony Bend's new game being titled Dead Don't Ride, it looks as though a last minute name change gave us Days Gone. An open-world survival game that features a biker gang surviving in a post apocalyptic world.
The game definitely draws parallels to The Last of Us but the gameplay demo shows a focus on zombies. Lots and lots of zombies. At one point there are probably 300 enemies on screen and they're all running toward the player. I wouldn't expect this game any time soon as interviews have suggested that a 2017 release may be too early.
Crash Bandicoot Will Return
In addition to an appearance in the upcoming Skylanders: Imaginators, Crash Bandicoot will be returning to the PlayStation 4. As announced by Shawn Layden, head of PlayStation, a remaster of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped will be gracing PlayStation 4.
Rumors have suggested the games will be released in 2017 alongside Crash's appearance in Skylanders. Check out the new trailer below!
Here Comes The Spider-Man
Though it was rumored that the upcoming Spider-Man game would be created by Sucker Punch, known for the inFamous series, it looks like Insomniac Games will be behind the development. Activision has been publishing the games for the last 20 years so it's exciting to see a change to the series.
The open-world swinging that defined the best games in the series will be returning. Marvel has announced that the game won't be attached the upcoming movie but I would assume the game will release around that time. Take a look at the new trailer below.
