Bethesda's E3 2016 Press Conference Recap

Jun 13, 2016

By: Max Cannon

The first day of E3 conferences comes to a close with Bethesda's conference. I'm expecting a look at Dishonored but anything else we see will be a big surprise! Check out what's coming soon from the company that made Fallout and Skyrim.

Dishonored 2 Releases This Year

November 11, 2016 will be Dishonored 2's new release date. The game will take place in a new city (Carnaca, is how it was pronounced) and will showcase two new characters. Corvo makes a return from the first game as does the girl he was protecting: Emily.

The sequel takes place in a new, more southern city. A big feature of the new game is it's new time travel mechanic, which allows you to play in one location through separate timelines. New tools, powers, and characters make up one of the most anticipated games of 2016.

Quake Returns

If you grew up in the early 90's, like myself, you may remember a little game called Quake. One of the original online multiplayer shooters returns with Quake Champions since its original release 20 years ago. The game will be created by ID's development team, who recently released Doom to critical acclaim. The game touts "unique and diverse characters." And plans to make a stand at Esports championships.

Though, aside from the cinematic trailer, there wasn't much to show off. But at the QuakeCon show in August we can expect more gameplay and a deeper look into the game. A killer way to open up the show.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends. It's a Card Game.

Not too exciting for most video game players, but we got a closer look at The Elder Scrolls: Legends. This was originally revealed last year and we got a look at the opening cinematic that starts out the game. It's an online card game so don't expect to go pick up a deck at your local store.

At bethesda.net you can sign up for the beta for the new game, if you're itching to play some cards. Sign up soon and keep an eye on your email. The cinematic can be found below.

Fallout 4 DLC

Starting very, very soon we can see some more Fallout DLC. There are 3 new DLC packs coming starting next week! The first one will be Fallout: Contraptions, which adds even more building to your settlements including armor racks, conveyor belts, and Rube Goldberg machines and we can look forward to that next week.. The second is a DLC which allows you to build your own vault and conduct your own experiments on your dwellers and that is to be released in July 2016. And finally August 2016 will show the release of Nuka World, a new map taking place at a Nuka Cola themed amusement park.

If you're not the paying money sort of person you can check out the new DLC coming to Fallout Shelter on mobile platforms. New quests, new locations, and new outfits will be available to players. And if you're not into playing the game on your phone you can now pick it up on your PC. Take a look below.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Is Coming to PS4 and Xbox One With Mods

We've been hearing rumors about a Skyrim rerelease on current gen consoles since their launch and it looks like we're getting our wishes granted. The game's graphics have been updated drastically as evidenced by the new trailer which compares Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.

Expect to revist Skyrim in October of 2016 and check out all of the previously released DLC. Taking a page from Fallout 4, Bethesda Game Studios will be adding mod support to the game on consoles, giving console players a look into how PC players typically play their games. Check out the trailer below.

Prey Reboot Is Official

Prey 2 was shown at E3 2011 and never came to fruition, the game was stuck in development limbo for years. Though the sequel has been ditched a reboot lives on in its place, which definitely calls back the Groundhog Day film.

We've only seen a very mysterious cinematic trailer but more will be shown off at QuakeCon, obviously aside Quake. Though release dates are hard to trust these days, as of the moment we can plan on getting our hands on Prey in 2017.

Have Your Say!

A lot of big games and big surprises. I'm wildly excited for Prey but what has you excited? Let us know in the comments!
