2016 is already jammed packed with a wide assortment of incredible looking games, so Kidzworld is highlighting a few of the titles that have got us foaming at the mouth to play.
Without further ado, here are our top 16 games to watch out for in 2016... in no particular order.
Cuphead
Platform: Xbox One, PC Release date: TBA 2016
Modeled after 1930's cartoons, Cuphead is a 2D run-and-gun shooter that is comprised mostly of boss fights. Wander the overworld map as the titular Cuphead and tackle the inventive bosses in any order you like but be prepared for the odd controller toss. Cuphead is a seriously challenging game. Luckily there is two player co-op for when you need a helping hand.
Unravel
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC Release date: February 9, 2016
Unravel is a beautiful puzzle-platforming game where players take control of Yarny, a character made of only yarn. Use Yarny's strand of string to swing, climb and tight-rope your way to your final destination as you survive storms and have interesting interactions with the world and its inhabitants.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Platform: PlayStation 4, Release date: April 26, 2016
The fourth and possibly final chapter in the Uncharted series is nearly guaranteed to be great. Coming from the team that made The Last Of Us, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End looks to take things to an even more dramatic place than ever before. If the past Uncharted games are any indication, we are in for one heck of an adventure. Not to mention, it is stunning to see in motion.
Quantum Break
Platform: Xbox One, Release date: April 5, 2016
Xbox One's big, mysterious exclusive from Remedy, the creators of Max Payne and Alan Wake is finally nearing its release date. Quantum Break is a hybrid of entertainment. Part video game, part TV show. How all this works together is yet to be seen but the time manipulating gameplay looks pretty incredible. Plus, it stars Iceman!
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Platform: PlayStation 4, Release date: TBA 2016
Easily one of the biggest and most exciting surprises to come out of E3 2015 was Sony's upcoming PS4 exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn. It floored us when first revealed. Horizon is an open world action-rpg game that combines the old with the new. You play as a hunter in a post-apocalyptic world fighting to survive amongst huge, mechanical beasts.
Below
Platform: Xbox One, Steam Release date: TBA 2016
Below is a rogue-like adventure game where death awaits around every corner and in every shadow. From the creators of Super Time Force and Super Bros: Swords & Sworcery, Below takes players on a dark and lonely journey through caves and caverns, testing your survival skills. The fantastic top-down pixel art and moving score from Jim Guthrie make this intriguing title hard to ignore.
The Legend Of Zelda Wii U
Platform: Wii U, Release date: TBA 2016
Do we even need to say anything about The Legend Of Zelda? Link's first proper adventure on the Wii U has been a long time coming and Kidzworld is chomping at the bit to get our hands on it. Hopefully we'll get a firm release date soon!
Gears Of War 4
Platform: Xbox One, Release date: TBA 2016
While Gears Of War 4 didn't exactly blow the doors off the building at E3 2015 when revealed. It certainly left us wanting to see more. Gears Of War 4 looks to take the series back to its roots with a much darker, grittier adventure more in line with the original Gears Of War than its over-the-top sequels.
Final Fantasy 15
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4 Release date: TBA 2016
Final Fantasy 15 has been in development for what seems an eternity now but the time is drawing near. Square-Enix looks to bring the open world back that was so sorely missing from the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy. Epic real-time combat, huge environments and beautiful graphics . It's time for Final Fantasy to be back at the top of the RPG gene pool.
Star Fox Zero
Platform: Wii U, Release date: TBA 2016
While our first hands-on impressions of Star Fox Zero were mixed, the recent delay and updates from Nintendo and Platinum Games have put Star Fox Zero back on our hot lists. Taking a ton of inspiration from the Nintendo 64 classic, Fox McCloud's latest outing on Wii U looks to bring exciting on rails and free-form aerial combat to the Wii U.
The Last Guardian
Platform: PlayStation 4, Release date: TBA 2016
The Last Guardian almost seems like a dream at this point. It has been in development for years... over six years. Most other games would have been forgotten about by now, but The Last Guardian is from the team behind the PS2 classics Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus. That alone makes us excited for Sony Japan's newest emotional journey of a boy and his dog-dragon.
ReCore
Platform: Xbox One, PC Release date: TBA 2016
Very little is known about ReCore but the talent behind the game is more than enough to get us excited. ReCore is coming from the mind of Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man and Mark Pacini, director of the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Watch the intriguing reveal trailer below.
Sea Of Thieves
Platform: Xbox One, PC Release date: TBA 2016
Sea Of Thieves looks to be the high seas pirate adventure video game fans have been waiting for. Online co-op and versus gameplay in a large, lush open world with treacherous seas to sail. All coming from the development studio behind Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye and Rare Replay. What's not to be excited about here?
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC Release date: May 24, 2016
Insanely smooth and fluid parkour gameplay set in a gorgeous, futuristic open world. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is coming from DICE, the developers behind Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefield. Watch the epic gameplay trailer below.
No Man's Sky
Platform: PlayStation 4, PC Release date: June, 2016
100% procedurally generated world to explore. Scratch that - 100% procedurally generated universe. Every planet, creature and even the music is generated on the fly so that no two planets are alike. There are so many planets and stars to visit that it would literally be impossible for one player to discover them all. Discovery, survival, space combat. We're ready to play some No Man's Sky.
Street Fighter V

We love a good fighting game and Street Fighter V looks primed to blow the competition out of the water. Tightly tuned and balanced gameplay, jaw dropping special moves and a fantastic roster of returning classic characters as well as some interesting new faces. Street Fighter V should be on every fighting game fans wish list.
