PlatinumGames have announced that their highly anticipated Xbox One exclusive, Scalebound, has been delayed until 2017.
Scalebound was originally set to release sometime in 2016 and with an impressive showing at this past Gamescom, it looked as if it was on schedule to hit its release window. But the Scalebound team revealed the epic delay on their official site today.
Scalebound - 5 Minute Gameplay Trailer
"In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned."
The team goes on to reassure fans that things are moving ahead and there's no need for concern, saying. "Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making."
PlatinumGames have a reputation for delivering insane, over the top action games like Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101 and this years Transformers Devastation. Let's hope Scalebound is just as epic when it finally releases in 2017.
