Discover how Peter got to Neverland when Pan arrives onto Blu-ray + DVD! Check out Kidzworlds Blu-ray review!
Peter (Levi Miller) is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly. Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland.
There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land. Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and a new friend named James Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan.

The Bottom Line
Every few years the magical tale of Peter Pan is revisited and re-imagined, and who can blame them - it's a great story no matter what you do to it! Pan is pretty much a prequel, setting the story before we meet Wendy and the Darling children so we can find out how Peter arrived in Neverland, and his own history as an orphan, a leader of the Lost Boys and how he sought his destiny after being pulled onto Captain Hook's pirate ship. We've got to admit though, Hugh Jackman steals the show as the villainous pirate Blackbeard.
Pan is beautifully shot, with bright shiny colors and complicated costumes, and it even has some fun musical moments (we didn't expect to hear Nirvana in this movie - did you!?) The Blu-ray comes with a standard set of extras, so nothing to get too excited about there, but if you're looking for a fun, bright family film (and everyone loves a little magic at the holidays), then we think Pan might fit the bill!
