Netflix is talking about making a mini series adaptation of "13 Reasons Why" with Selena Gomez as the executive producer.
The novel by Jay Asher starts with a boy named Clay Jensen who gets a box of cassette tapes recorded his former crush and classmate Hannah Baker explaining different stories from her life, and why she chose to end her life.
The box comes with instructions for the tapes to be passed to 12 different students who were in some way involved in her death.
The book inspired the Thirteen Reasons Why Project, which encourages teens to talk online about bullying prevention and their reactions to the story.
Selena Gomez and her mother bought the rights to the screenplay, and has produced episodes of Wizards of Waverly place before. There's no word yet on whether the 23-yar-old star will also play a role in the series, but we're hoping yes!
