Aussie pop punk rockers 5 Seconds of Summer are back with their new album Sounds Good Feels Good, check out the Kidzworld Review.
Sounds Good Feels Good
If there's on thing 5 Seconds of Summer doesn't need, it's energy. From the first to last track on their second album Sounds Good Feels Good the Aussie pop-punkers are full of enthusiasm you can feel. Inspired by similar bands before them like Good Charlotte (The Madden Brothers wrote a few tracks on this album), Green Day, Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy, 5SoS have produced an album that's all about being a teen, feeling like an underdrog (although there's no way that's true for these guys anymore!) and living life to the fullest.
SGFG has some gems on it, and they show a lot of range from rock to pure pop with tracks like "She's Kinda Hot" and "Permanent Vacation" and "Fly Away," to "San Francisco." The track "Hey Everybody" even has an '80s pop (think Duran Duran) sound to it. The pop parts of the album are no surprise since 5SoS is managed by the same team that handles One Direction.
The Bottom Line
The album is listenable, and energetic, the whole way through, while pop punk isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, even people who don't like this style of music will have to admit it's catchy, fun and solid. 5SoS are taking chances, going big and going bold, and most of all, they do it with humor.
