This Week In News: Marvel, SpongeBob and Peter Pan!

This week was a big one! Marvel announced all their upcoming films until 2019. We got new trailers for The Hunger Games: Mockingly Part 1 and the new SpongeBob movie, a rocket exploded on its way to the International Space Station and a dad did the coolest thing ever for Halloween. Here’s what you missed in the news this week!

1. Marvel Announces Black Panther, Captain Marvel and More

Marvel had a fan event in Hollywood this week and Marvel President Kevin Feige dropped some serious bombs on us! Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans (Iron Man and Captain America) appeared on stage to announce Captain America: Civil War. They were joined by Chadwick Boseman, who has been cast as the Black Panther in the film, which will open on November 3, 2017. We got the news about Thor: Ragnarok, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch is rumored for the role, but not confirmed), Captain Marvel, the first female-led superhero film from the comic giant, The Inhumans and a two-part Avengers film: Infinity War. Yes, the Infinity Gauntlet will be complete and it’s not going to be good for our avenging friends! Check out the entire slate below!

2. "Peter Pan Live!" New TV Spot          

"Peter Pan Live!" is the latest live musical event from NBC. Today we got a new spot for the show, which stars Alison Williams as Peter and Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. (Oh, that costume! Not sure what to say about that!) Check it out below and let us know if you’ll be watching when the show airs on December 4th.

Peter Pan Live! Preview

 

7. Are We Getting a Superman Prequel TV Series?

We might be. There is a rumor floating around that Man of Steel writer David S. Goyer is working on a prequel series for Superman called "Krypton". Considering the Batman prequel series "Gotham" is doing well, this is hardly a surprise. But … didn’t we already do this with Smallville?
