We know you guys are super busy, especially getting back into the swing of things at school. Each week we’re going to bring you the best stories from entertainment so you have something to talk about this weekend!
1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Trailer
This week, one of the most anticipated films of the year got a brand new trailer. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is in District 13, and the government wants to use her as a symbol for the rebellion against The Capitol. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is playing that very role for President Snow (Donald Sutherland). If they want their Mockingjay, they're going to have to play by Katniss' rules.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will hit theaters on November 22, 2014!
4. Loki vs. King Kong!
Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston was cast in the Godzilla spinoff (kind of) Skull Island. Giant monster fans will recognize that name from the King Kong films. “Previous works have touched on the island, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. Universal Pictures will distribute the film on Nov. 4, 2016.” Monster fight!
5. Doctor Who’s Matt Smith Joins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Fans of Doctor Who were excited to hear that Matt Smith, who played the Eleventh Doctor has been cast in the horror/literature mashup Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Smith will play will play Mr. Collins, one of the men vying for the hand of Elizabeth Bennet (Lily Collins), society maiden and zombie hunter. Collins is a goofy character, so Smith seems like perfect casting.
6. Supergirl is getting a TV series
We just learned that Supergirl is getting her very own series. CBS just gave the show a big series order, maybe even bigger than the one Gotham got. Girls love superheroes, too, and this is wonderful news. The show comes to us from veterans of The Flash, Arrow, No Ordinary Family and Chuck, so it’s likely to be pretty awesome.

8. Jeremy Renner freaks us out with a pic of a Hawkeye/Black Widow baby

9. Meryl Streep freaks us out in the new poster for Into the Woods
We got a new poster and plot line for the upcoming musical film Into the Woods. There are also some big plot changes from the play, but we won’t spoil them for you. Here is the story: “Into the Woods is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.
Into The Woods is in theaters Christmas Day 2014!
10. Deadpool movie is on the way
Looks like comic book fans are finally going to get their Deadpool movie. Ryan Reynolds was set to star years ago, but the new talk began when the test footage from years ago appeared online. Though it’s gone now, it looked pretty funny. No deals are finalized, but it looks like Reynolds is in!
Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
