The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a soundtrack jam-packed full of gorgeous symphonic style melodies, so expectations were high for many Marvel fans when it came to the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Composer Hans Zimmer created an incredibly different musical landscape for the movie, and it is just as surprising and interesting as the first soundtrack.

The double album features tracks that are more edgy and in-your-face than the first film, and also more current with pop culture. The songs range from dub-step inspired to raw industrial and EDM. Inside the liner notes Director Marc Webb explains the film's music this way:
"I want Spider-Man to participate in the real world - I want him to listen to The Ramones and Dylan, Pharrell and Kendrick Lamar. He's a kid, and he's a participant in pop culture."

The TASM 2 soundtrack is ambitious, epic, peppy and current, and some of the experimental elements pay off - legendary guitarist Johnny Marr injected energy into many of the tracks with his amazing guitar riffs. Pharrell not only sang the track "Here," he helped write, produce and remix many of the tracks, giving it a fresh feel that lots of soundtracks lack. Standout tracks include "Here," the beautifully lush "Song for Zula" by Phosphorescent (which has been featured on TV before) and "I'm Spider-Man" and "So Much Anger" will put you right back into some of the film's best moments.
