The Pokémon World Championships were held in Vancouver, Canada this past weekend, attracting players from over 25 different countries. This year the finals were truly international, featuring players from Czech Republic, Japan, Australia, France, Italy, and the United States.

Milestones!
Ondrej Kujal, the Trading Card Game Junior Division Champion, became the first player representing Czech Republic to win the title. Also for the first time, a South African player received an invite for the Championships.
Looking Ahead
During the Closing Ceremony, the location for next year’s Pokémon World Championships was announced, and it will be in the United State’s Capital – Washington D.C.! A new season of Pokémon Trading Card Game and Video Game has begun, so grab those cards or that DS and start training for next year’s Pokémon World Championships!
