Seventeen year old Austin Carter Mahone was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. His birthday is April 4th, 1996. When he was just 16 months old tragedy struck his family - his father died. Even as a kid Austin was interested in music, and eventually stopped attending high school in order to pursue his dream once his career really starting taking off.
Viral Videos
Austin first started posting videos to YouTube in 2010 with the help of his friend, Alex Constancio. He quickly began to build an online following, and was even heralded as "the next Justin Bieber." In fact, he even posted a cover of Justin's song "Mistletoe" in 2011 which could have given the Biebz a run for his money. You might call Austin an Online Wonder, he has 1.8 million fans on Facebook, 1.5 million on Twitter, and 500, 000 subscribers to his YouTube and over 90 million views. At the end of August 2012 Austin announced that he had signed a record deal, and his online fans could now see him offline and on the road after he hit the studio.
Say Somethin'
After being signed to Universal Records, Austin went to work recording his first single "11:11," which peaked on the Billboard Heatseekers charts at #19. His second single "Say Somethin" managed to capture his essence and managed to get on the pop charts and introduce him toa whole new audience. He also won a coveted spot as one of the opening acts for [kwlink 27515]Taylor Swift on her Red tour[/kwlink]! His next song is "What About Love."

In 2013 MTV named Austin an official "Artist to Watch," and they were right! That year he was the opener for Taylor Swift when she toured for her album Red and later that year had his own "Artist to Watch" tour with MTV!
