If you haven't heard of Toki Tori before, don't worry! The first game in the series came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001. After more than a decade, the puzzle platformer is back with better graphics and new ways to use the Toki Tori.
All You Have to Do is Whistle
In the original Toki Tori game, you had to solve puzzles in order to collect more Toki Tori. Additionally, you needed to collect items for the Toki Tori to use in order to progress through the game. In Toki Tori 2, there are no items anymore. Instead, you have two skills: Whistle and Stomp. Both skills enable you to do a wide variety of things. For example, you can whistle to bring creatures closer to you or whistle a song for different effects. You can stomp to scare creatures away or break parts of the environment to access new areas.
Wii U or Steam?
Toki Tori 2 is currently available for the Wii U and will be released later on in the year for the PC via Steam. The Wii U version of the game will most likely be more expensive than the Steam version of the game. However, the Wii U version of the game does feature the Tokidex, a camera controlled by the Wii U gamepad that lets you take pictures of creatures that appear in the game. The PC version of the game will also have the Tokidex, but the controls for it will not be the same. If you can't wait to try out Toki Tori 2, get the Wii U version since it is already out. Otherwise, you will have to settle for the original Toki Tori game, which is the only one currently available on Steam.
