Being Someone Else
Now that Carrie is banned from Manhattan, life feels different. She and Sebastian have only just started dating and the students at school have already given them a nickname: Kiddshaw. Carrie battles with her strong feelings for Sebastian, even breaking down into what looks like a fit of misery. She's worried that if she lets herself fall in love with Sebastian, he'll disappear, a fear stemmed from her mother's passing. Mouse suggests that Carrie suppress her urge to be clingy and over dramatic, and instead show Sebastian a chill, go-with-the-flow attitude. But Sebastian quickly sees through this, knowing that Carrie isn't that chill.
Dorrit's Wise Words
While looking after Dorrit, Sebastian comes over. Carrie gets distracted by a make out session and doesn't notice that Dorrit has snuck out of the house. Carrie and Sebastian figure out that she probably went to Manhattan in search of the inspiration for her school's history project. So Carrie goes after her, telling Sebastian not to come. He ignores her request and beats her there. While in Manhattan, Dorrit offers Carrie some inspirational words. Dorrit believes in living every day without fear. Meanwhile Carrie is so afraid of losing someone else, that she's closing herself off to love.
The Smartest Kid
Mouse discovers that she's no longer the smartest kid in school; a jock named West as taken her place. So she challenges him to a Rubix cube competition. After winning the competition, Mouse gloats, but then learns that West comes from a single parent home, and knows that between his life situation, his perfect grades and his extracurriculars, his college applications will stand out far beyond hers!
The Strange Relationship
Walt and Donna are still dating. Donna likes some of the differences between Walt and her past boyfriends: he likes to shop, and he prefers her with less make up and when she doesn't act fake. But Donna wants to have sex, and even though she tries to seduce him, Walt refuses the intimacy. Donna asks Walt if he even likes girls, and Walt confides in her. He does like girls, but he's confused. Donna assures him that she won't tell anybody. After all, her brother is gay. They decide to break up, and Donna spreads a rumor that Walt is very well-endowed.
The Confrontation
Meanwhile, Carrie's father has been having some fun of his own at the gym. He tells his friend Harlan about his sexual exploits, and learns that Harlan has been dating Carrie's ex-boss Larissa. Larissa shows up at the gym and Carrie's father accuses her of messing with Carrie's future. Larissa tells him that Carrie doesn't want to be a lawyer like he's always assumed; she wants to be a writer. So later, he tells Carrie that she can return to her internship in Manhattan and follow her dreams.
