This week on American Idol (Season 12, Week 7), the second half of the top 20 guys and girls compete for a spot on the live show. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “10 Girls Perform,” which aired on February 27th, 2013 to discover what you missed.
Difficult Decisions
This week the second group of girls performed in the sudden death round in Las Vegas. The eliminations definitely weren't as clear cut as they were last week and that was reflected in the judges decisions. When it came time to argue about who should move on and who should go home, the judges were almost never unanimous.
Range of Talent
There was a real range of styles on this episode: Candice, with her effortless power and musicality who is sometimes called the female Joshua Ledet; Juliana, the 15-year-old with the soft, signature sound that is so current; Aubrey, who has the whole package; and Janelle and Rachel, with their country twang. But we can't forget Zoanette, the most unique of them all. In previous auditions, let's face it, she sounded awful. But the judges saw something special in her crazy character, and she proved her worth last night when she performed "Circle of Life" from The Lion King.
The Girls Who Made It
It would have been nice if the judges could have kept them all. (Well, almost all of them.) But they had to narrow it down to 5:
- Candice Glover
- Aubrey Cleland
- Zoanette Johnson
- Janelle Arthur
- Breanna Steer
Tonight, the last of the boys perform for the judges. Check back tomorrow for the review.
