Keeping The Tradition Alive
All Carrie wants is to honor her mother's memory by keeping her favorite holiday alive. So she decides to took a turkey dinner just like her mom used to. But the pressure is on because her new boyfriend George and his father will be dining with them.
The Thanksgiving Disaster
Dorrit is determined to sabotage Carrie's efforts, so she destroys their mother's recipes and hides the cookbooks. Carrie isn't deterred, however. It's just a minor setback. She calls Mouse to bring cookbooks and help her with the food prep. But things keep going wrong: the stove gets stuck, the turkey catches fire, the power goes out...oh ya, and Carrie catches Dorrit smoking pot! She realizes that Dorrit's reason for sabotaging Carrie was the same reason Carrie wanted to cook dinner in the first place. They both miss their mom, but they deal with it in different ways. Watching Carrie try to fill their mom's shoes only made it harder for Dorrit to cope.
Crushed Dreams
Meanwhile, Maggie eats Thanksgiving dinner at Walt's house, where his parents act uptight and talk incessantly about the educational expectations they have for Walt. She doesn't like that Walt won't stand up to his folks and tell them the truth - that what they want for his future doesn't match his own vision. When Maggie gets home, she thinks for the first time in her life about going to college. Unfortunately, her brother tells her that there's no money in her family's budget. Suddenly, the dream she never thought she'd have is ripped away from her.
Alone For The Holidays
Sebastian is supposed to spend Thanksgiving with his mom, but she bails on him to spend the holiday with her new boyfriend. So Sebastian is left alone. He finally winds up at Carrie's house after all the chaos has taken place and George and his father have left. She invites him in and they, along with Carrie's family, Maggie and Mouse start a new tradition - a Thanksgiving dinner of bean dip and salad by candlelight.
