Singing Swift
Taylor Swift opened up the night by performing "State of Grace," followed by some quick banter with hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez about the advice she would give to performers just starting out, it turns out that Taylor's "golden rule" is just to be nice to other people no matter what.
Double Elimination
Tension hung thick on the stage, and it was revealed that without a chance to battle it out hip hop group Lyric145 were shown the door and would not have the chance to sing for their lives! The remaining contestants were announced, and it was the Young Adults who were on the chopping block this week: Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas had the lowest votes, and were forced to battle it out in a sing-off.
In the sing-off Jennel went with Hoobastank's "The Reason," and Paige performed Coldplay's "Paradise." Although Jennel had a consistently better performances up until now, Paige stole the show with this one and the judges all agreed that it was time for mini-rocker from Massachusetts Jennel to go home.
