It is a great app for mothers and daughters to play together and learn the in and outs of cooking without all the mess. We cant wait to play all of them and really perfect our cooking skills. It is now available in the iTunes App Store for iOS devices and Google Play and the Amazon Appstore for Android devices.
NEW YORK – Nov. 8, 2012: GirlsgoGames today launched new tween gaming app “Sara’s Cooking Class.” Based on the most popular desktop game on GirlsgoGames, an online social-gaming platform tailored to girls with 50 million monthly active users worldwide, the app encourages tween girls to “cook” different recipes with the help of a friendly cartoon chef, named Sara.
The app aims to inspire young girls to learn more about recipes and cooking creatively for themselves in real life, rather than relying on processed and packaged food. “Sara’s Cooking Class” is a fun, educational gaming experience that parents can also get involved in, bonding together in a safe environment and testing out the recipes both on the app and in their own kitchen.
Encouraging tween girls to learn how to cook for themselves through role-play, the app provides an environment in which they can experiment with a wide range of recipes from across the globe. Choosing from a diverse recipe book, including the likes of sushi, homemade pizza and red velvet cake, players then follow simple steps from Sara to complete their meal. They earn points as they progress through the recipes successfully, competing against a kitchen timer. At the end of each level, points are added together and Sara awards stars as prizes.
Dieneke Kuijpers, Marketing Director of GirlsgoGames, said, “we’re delighted to launch the native ‘Sara’s Cooking Class’ app. People are more conscious about what they eat and are interested in cooking food from scratch. Encouraging the younger generation to learn and get excited about preparing meals and experience the joy of cooking independently is at the heart of all Sara’s Cooking Class games. What’s more, the launch of Sara’s Cooking Class as a standalone brand is a major step for GirlsgoGames, which is the world’s largest entertainment destination for tween girls. We want to introduce more young girls to Sara, and ultimately widen the audience of the game—both online and now on the native app.”
The app launches today both as a lite (free) version as well as a full, premium version with additional features. It is available in the iTunes App Store for iOS devices and Google Play and the Amazon Appstore for Android devices.
