In the season premiere, Elena deals with the consequences of last season’s accident. Find out if she transforms into a vampire in Kidzworld’s recap of “Growing Pains”, which aired October 11, 2012.
The Choice
Last season, Elena got into a serious car accident – unfortunately, she had vampire blood in her system before she went over the bridge. When she wakes up she has a choice: transform into a vampire or choose to die. But, Stefan is convinced Bonnie can help them find a third option before Elena finishes the transition by feeding. Damon isn’t so hopeful, and is angry with Stefan for getting Elena into this situation.
Bonnie tries to connect with the spirits, but they aren’t listening. She tells Jeremy she wants to stop her own heart to temporarily go into the “other side” and bring Elena back. She almost gets stuck on the other side, and has to leave before she can help Elena.
Captured
A new priest (Pastor Young) is in town, and he is dedicated to eliminating all vampires. Alaric told the council about what happened last season, and they are not happy. The council strips Caroline’s mom of her sheriff badge and kidnaps Caroline and Rebekah.
Pastor Young shows up at Elena’s house and takes Elena to a safe house, not knowing she is turning into a vampire. He captures Stefan and holds him as bait, trying to lure Damon into a trap. Elena tries to run away, but they stop her, putting her into a holding cell with Rebekah and Stefan.
Transition
But, Elena still needs human blood in order to transition. This means she needs to find a way out before she dies. She confesses to Stefan the reason she was on the bridge – she was going back to Stefan to tell him she loved him. She says that regardless of what happens, she won’t regret that decision. A guard comes into the cell area and Stefan is able to kill him, getting Elena some blood.
Have Your Say
Now that Elena is a vampire, she is getting flashbacks from the past – memories Damon and Stefan made her forget. Do you think this will change her relationship with the brothers? Let us know what you think!
