1Hey Coach,
Everybody thinks I'm crap at basketball. My P.E. teacher put me on the "A" team but people say it's just because the coach needed to even the teams out. What should I do?
nissa

Hey nissa,
Don't listen to what those chumps are saying about your basketball skills. Your coach may have put you on the team because he or she knows you're a team player, have a good attitude and want to get better. Even if the reason your coach put you on the "A" team was only to even the teams out, that shouldn't stop you from having fun or improving your basketball skills. The other people in your class are probably just jealous because you got picked for the "A" team and they didn't. There's lots of people who think they'll make themselves look better by saying other players are crappy. Just ignore them. Unless those people are playing in the NBA, and taking passes from Shaq or Kobe, then what they have to say doesn't really matter.

1Hey Coach,
Do you have any tips for kicking field goals?
tylerakaeminem

Hey tylerakaeminem,
There's a couple of mental and physical things you can do to improve your field goal kicking. Kick the ball about two inches below the center of the ball, using the top two inside eyelets of your cleet. This is considered your shoe's sweet spot. Tilt the ball an inch or two to the right and concentrate on giving it a nice end-over-end kick without any wobble. This is obviously easier to do in a practice than it is in a game. In a game, the kicker has to rely on his center to give a good snap, and the holder to place the football properly. A bad kick often gets blamed on the kicker when it's really not his fault.

You can practice your mental concentration by pretending that every kick is "do or die." Pretend there are ten seconds left and your team needs you to make the field goal to win the game. If you treat every practice kick this way, you'll be more prepared when you actually have to kick a big field goal during a game.

Do you have a question on sports, skateboards, skateboarding, fitness, P.E. class, rules to sports or health concerns? to the Kidzworld Coach. Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.
