Stage Fright
The moment of truth has finally arrived for Rachel and Kurt, who are preparing for their auditions to the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYADA). Rachel is stressing over every tiny detail, including whether or not she should drink milk or touch doorknobs. Meanwhile, Kurt can’t decide what song will land him a place at the school.
The dean of the school (guest star Whoopi Goldberg) is the one judging auditions. Unfortunately, the stress of the situation gets to Rachel, and she totally chokes during her audition. She chooses to sing ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’, an old standby that she is completely confident in. But, when she gets in front of the dean, Rachel forgets the lyrics. Alternatively, Kurt totally nails the audition! Does this mean Rachel won’t get into NYADA?
Graduation Woes
Meanwhile, Puck is scared that he won’t be able to get out of high school, ever. Turns out, he doesn’t have the best grades and is worried he won’t graduate. In order to graduate with his friends, he has to pass his geography exam. Unfortunately, despite all his efforts, he still gets an F. Will he be stuck at McKinley forever?
Black Eye
Coach Beiste shows up at school with a black eye, causing a little suspicion. Turns out, her boyfriend is the one who hurt her. She confides that it isn’t the first time it’s happened, and that her boyfriend is being abusive. Everyone encourages Coach Beiste to stand up for herself and move out. Although she does temporarily, at the end of the episode she decides to give him a second chance.
