The Muppets are coming to DVD and Blu-ray and Kidzworld got the opportunity to interview all of them! Find out what Swedish Chef's makes the other Muppets the most, how the new members are fitting in and what true meaning of being a Muppet is!
Kidzworld: Kermit, how did it feel to be reunited with Miss Piggy?
- KERMIT: It’s always wonderful to be on screen with Miss Piggy. (Behind the scenes can get a bitcrazy, but when the camera is rolling, she’s always on her best behavior.) Making “The Muppets” and getting the whole gang together again was the most fun a frog can have without getting wet.
Kidzworld: Gonzo, before the reunion of The Muppets onstage you started a successful plumbing empire, were you sad to leave it all behind?
- GONZO: Not at all! I have many talents, most of which are hard to describe. It just so happens I am extremely good at the plumbing arts. But while I enjoyed the ins and outs of pipes, valves and plunging, there’s nothing like show biz – especially if it means getting shot out of a cannon into a pit of angry alligators while wearing a suit made entirely of tapioca. Trust me on this.
Kidzworld: Miss Piggy, you and Kermit have been on-again off-again in your relationship for years, do you think it’s going to last this time?
- MISS PIGGY: Where did vous ever get the idea that we’ve been on-again/off-again? We have always been “on” and shall remain so forever. I personally guarantee it. Oh sure, sometimes Kermie and moi have teeny-tiny little disagreements, but eventually I wear him down and he comes to his senses. We are here to stay…so, hands off my frog!
Kidzworld: Animal, what was the best technique you learned in your celebrityanger management group?
- ANIMAL: Yelling!!! Yelling!!! Yelling!!! Yelling!!!....Thankyoo.
Kidzworld Walter, what’s it like being the newest member of The Muppets? And do you keep in touch with Mary and Gary now that you all live such different lives?
- WALTER: Oh it’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me in my entire life, which isn’t that long, but still…it’s pretty exciting being on the Muppets. I love it. And everybody is so nice. Even Miss Piggy, although she does seem to have a lot of chores for me to do forher……..Mary and Gary and I are still close, and they come by whenever they’re in Hollywood, or I’m in Small Town. We’re BFFs!
Kidzworld: Fozzie, has anyone seen or heard from The Moopets since the Muppets reunited?
- FOZZIE: I lost touch with them after the movie, but I’m sure they’re still out there touring. It’s not a bad act…..and trust me, I know bad acts.
Clip: Bunch of Weirdos
Kidzworld: Swedish Chef, what is the dish you make that the other Muppets like the most?
- SWEDISH CHEF: Derfrøøskie de ringee-ringee høøpder vüskte! (Translation: When we call out for pizza)
Kidzworld: Janice, what do you think makes for good chemistry in a band? What makes your band special?
- JANICE: Whoa, like it’s totally a matter of all being in the same groove and achieving, like, total one-ness with your bandmates, fersure. It also helps not to hold yourinstruments upside down. Major bummer!
Kidzworld: Statler and Waldorf, even though you are a part of The Muppets, you boo them at every show. Why?
- STATLER: We don’t really “boo”. We’re just encouraging the Muppets to get better.
- WALDORF: No we’re not; we’re encouraging to get lost!
- STATLER : Well, that would certainly be better! Ho-ho-ho!
Kidzworld: Which Muppet do you all think is the most changed (or most improved) from your time apart?
- KERMIT: I think we’re all pretty much the same, only more so.
- MISS PIGGY: I definitely got better looking…if that’s even possible.
- FOZZIE: And I think I look younger. But maybe that’s ‘cause I hang around with older jokes.
- ANIMAL: An-i-mal! An-i-mal!
- SWEDISH CHEF: Wøt dee høøey!?
- JANICE: I changedstrings on my guitar.
- STATLER: The Muppets have all changed….
- WALDORF: And not for the better. Ho-ho-ho-ho!!!
Kidzworld: What do you all think is the true meaning of being a Muppet?
- KERMIT: Believing in yourself and your friends….
- MISS PIGGY: Getting a chance to be close to moi.
- FOZZIE: I wish you’d asked me that when my writer Gags Beasley was here; I’d have a funny answer for you. But since I don’t, that reminds me of a joke: Why did the chicken cross the internet?...To get to the other site! Aahhh! Wocka! Wocka! What was your question again?
- ANIMAL: An-i-mal! An-i-mal!
- SWEDISH CHEF: Wøt dee høøey!?
- JANICE: It means,like, being, like, y’know…..
- STATLER: The meaning of the Muppets? Gee, if we knew that…
- WALDORF: …We might be able to find a cure for ‘em. Ho-ho-ho-ho!!!
