This week on America’s Next Top Model British Invasion (Cycle 18, Episode 1), the Americans took the lead in the competitive season opener. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Kelly Osbourne,” which aired on February 29, 2012, to discover what you missed.
America vs. Britain
This season welcomed seven inexperienced Americans and seven all-star Brits to compete for the title of America's Next Top Model. Despite the British advantage, the Americans seem to be taking the lead. Was it a good idea to put the two nations into a head-to-head competition? If you watch the show for the drama and cattiness, then absolutely. It’s safe to say that this season will be full of villains and victims.
Photo Shoot
For their photo shoot, the girls divided into pairs - one from the U.S. and one from the U.K. They each posed as an iconic figure from their respective countries. The shoot wasn’t simple. Not only did they have to embody these celebs (some of which were males), they also had to pose in mid-air while jumping on a trampoline.
Elimination
While the judges had very few positive things to say about the shoot as a whole, the Americans definitely came out on top. The final four girls to be called were all from Britain. The bottom two were 24-year-old Jasmia, who portrayed John Lennon, and 22-year-old Ashley, who tackled Princess Diana. Ultimately, the judges decided to give Ashley a second chance and sent Jasmia packing.
Next week, the remaining 13 girls will receive their makeovers! Check back for our recap.
