Betrayal
Elena calls Damon to work out their issues from last week, but he doesn’t seem interested in talking. Stefan also isn’t interested in chatting, so Elena is very frustrated. She pays the guys a visit and finds Damon in bed with Rebekah, who just tried to kill Elena hours earlier! This just causes the feud between the two girls to grow even stronger.
Original Spell
Last week Esther, the Original witch, told Elena she wanted to bind her children together so they all experienced the same fate – death. Elena thinks they should stop the spell, so she asks Stefan and Damon to help her. But, the brothers and Bonnie think Esther should go through with the spell. In fact, Esther will need Bonnie’s help to do the spell properly.
Meanwhile, Elijah suspects Elena may be up to trouble. He takes her for a walk, and tricks Elena into telling Esther’s secret. Wanting to keep her out of the way, he traps Elena in a cave underground with Rebekah and then tells Stefan and Damon they need to stop Esther’s spell or he will kill Elena. But, to stop the spell they need to kill Bonnie or her mom Abby. Instead of killing Abby, Damon turns her into a vampire, essentially breaking the Bennett bloodline like Elijah asked and ending the spell.
Discovered Dagger
In other parts of Mystic Falls, Dr. Fell takes Alaric back to her house after he gets hurt in a bar fight. While she’s asleep, he discovers a dagger in her kitchen. Turns out, it is the same dagger that has been used on recent attacks. She finds him looking at it, and shoots him! What is she up to?
