If you haven't already, check out our Top 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2012 list! While releases are a bit slow this month, it's good to see what is coming out in the near future and know what to watch for! This week we take a look at Quarrel, Pushmo, and Victoria II: A House Divided.
Quarrel
Quarrel has already been out for the iPhone since last summer, but it will be arriving on the XBox Live Arcade this week. The game is an interesting mix between word games, like Scrabble, and strategy games, like Risk. Create words from a set of letters to summon armies to crush your opponents. The XBLA version of the game comes with 2-4 player online multiplayer, which the iPhone version did not have. Also, the game was originally meant to be developed for the XBLA, but was moved to the iPhone due to production costs.
Pushmo
Pushmo actually came out last month on the 3DS, but somehow slipped our radar. That is a shame, because it's a really good puzzle game! The game features a world made of pushable blocks. You play as Mallo, who must move and climb these blocks to rescue children who has been trapped. The game is developed by the same people that brought us Paper Mario, WarioWare, and Fire Emblem. With over 250 levels, you can expect to get a lot of fun out of this game!
Victoria II: A House Divided
Victoria II: A house Divided expands upon the original Victoria II game that came out on the PC in 2010. This expansion will take the grand strategy game to the US Civil War and will allow you to engage in war with other countries around the world.
