This week on Glee (Season 3, Episode 9), New Directions staged a holiday special inspired by Star Wars. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Extraordinary Merry Christmas”, which aired December 13, 2011, to find out what happened!
This Glee episode, the focus was definitely on singing! The episode was loaded with tons of Christmas classics, and even an original song. But, fans of developed storylines would have been disappointed with the lack of action, since most of the storylines were wrapped up last week.
Star Wars Christmas
The New Directions are asked to perform a holiday special for the local TV station. Since Artie did such a great job directing the school musical, Mr. Schu asks him to step in and take the lead. But, his vision was a little wonky. His Christmas special was a blend between Star Wars and a Judy Garland-inspired film. The whole thing was shown during the episode, between bits about the kids filming it.
The Grinch
Sue abandoned her evil attitude to help the homeless this episode. She even invites Kurt and Blaine to help her serve food at the shelter. But, they turn her down to work on Artie’s Christmas special instead. Quinn and Sam decide they want to help others more than film the special, so they volunteer with Sue instead.
