Memphis, Tennessee rapper Benjamin “Lil P-Nut” Flores Jr. is an 8-year-old pistol. He started rapping when he was only four and he charmed the audience on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” with his feisty ‘tude. This guy is…well just adorable.
Also adorable is Atticus, the young penguin P-Nut voices in Happy Feet 2. Atticus is the son of family penguin, proud pop Seymour, voiced by adult rapper/actor Common. The dances and songs P-Nut performs as Atticus will really over-tweak your “cute” button. We asked the young talent a few fun Q’s.
Kidzworld: Who gave you your unusual name?
- Lil P-Nut: My uncle said my head looked like a peanut when I was born.
Kidzworld: Funny! Had you ever recorded a voice for an animated show or movie before?
- Lil P-Nut: No. This was the first.
Kidzworld: Did you get to work in the same room with Common?
- Lil P-Nut: No. I didn’t get to see Common while taping but wish I did.
Kidzworld: What did you think when you first saw your voice coming out of cute Penguin Atticus?
- Lil P-Nut: I was amazed! I was like “Wow!”
Kidzworld: Talk about working with Ice Cube who might produce your TV show on Cartoon Network.
- Lil P-Nut: I liked the work that he does. I like his rapping and he makes great movies.
Kidzworld: Did you see the first Happy Feet movie and what did you think?
- Lil P-Nut: Yes, I saw it and I loved it.. I liked the music and the dancing.
Kidzworld: Who are you dying to collaborate with on a rap or in a movie?
- Lil P-Nut: I would like to collaborate with Eminem on a rap song and Ice Cube in a movie. Maybe he can play my dad.
Kidzworld: Why will kids really enjoy watching Happy Feet 2 and seeing little Atticus do his thing?
- Lil P-Nut: They will like the music because it has a lot of great music and Atticus is a kid who takes up for his friends so they will love him.
