This week on The Vampire Diaries (Season 3, Episode 9), Elena, Stefan and Damon come up with an elaborate plan to kill Klaus. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Homecoming”, which aired November 10, 2011, to discover what you missed.
Stefan needs to find a way to bring Klaus back to Mystic Falls, otherwise Mikael will kill him and possible Damon too. Stefan, Damon and Elena come up with a plan they hope will convince him. They agree that Elena will stab Mikael with the original dagger, “temporarily” killing him. Once Klaus sees him, he will remove the dagger and then stab Klaus with a special stake made from the old oak tree.
They even convince Rebekah to get in on the plan, since she is still angry with Klaus. But, Elena doesn’t completely trust her. After sharing a special moment while getting ready for the Homecoming dance, Elena stabs her, sending her back to her death.
Homecoming
On the night of Homecoming, the gym floods and the dance gets cancelled. They move the party to Tyler’s house. When they show up, Klaus is there and he has planned a huge party celebrating his father’s death. Klaus warns Tyler that if anyone goes against him, he will get his army of hybrids to retaliate. He asks Caroline what the plan is, but she says she has no idea. He [kwlink 25284]stabs her in the neck[/kwlink] with vervain, ensuring she stays out of the way.
The Showdown
Mikael and Damon make their appearance at the party. Damon slips inside the house while Mikael uses Elena as bait to get Klaus outside. If Elena dies Klaus won’t be able to make any more hybrids. Mikael stabs Elena and she falls to the ground. As this is happening Damon sneaks up and stabs Klaus, but he just misses his heart. The hybrids start inching towards the house to protect Klaus, and the “dead” Elena throws wolfsbane grenades on them. Turns out, Elena was actually Katherine. Damon didn’t want Elena involved in the plan so he used Katherine as a body double. Just when it couldn’t get more exciting, Klaus uses the stake that is partially in him to finally kill Mikael, setting Stefan free from his compulsion.
