Pokemon Rumble Blast looks to improve upon the original series that came out two years ago. Not only is there a nice story with five chapters, but there are new battle modes, co-op, and 3D graphics!
Get Ready to Rumble!
In Pokemon Rumble Blast, you take control of various Pokemon toys and battle your way through dungeons, battle royales, and forts. Each Pokemon can only perform two different moves and you must move around the environment to dodge enemy attacks. You get three wind-up keys on most levels and lose a key whenever a Pokemon is knocked out. You can switch Pokemon before they get knocked out, but this requires you to stand still for a few seconds, which is not something you can afford all the time.
As you defeat enemies, some will join your side! This is important because your Pokemon do not level up. The only way to get past the later levels is to recruit new toys and use them.
If all the Raindrops were Glowdrops
The story in Pokemon Rumble Blast starts with your journey of becoming Toyland's champion. However, the plot thickens when the vital healing glowdrops are stolen by a mysterious enemy. It is then up to you, the champion, to get the glowdrops back and save Toyland!
The new fort battle mode is cool, but the new charge mode is nothing more than a button mashing event that is not fun. Boss battles can also get quite frustrating as you can get knocked out by just one or two hits. However, overall, Pokemon Rumble Blast is a simple and fun game, especially if you like Pokemon.
