This week on Glee (Season 3, Episode 3), Rachel and Mercedes compete for the lead role in the school musical. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Asian F”, which aired October 4, 2011, to find out what happened!
Head to Head
It’s the final week of auditions for West Side Story, and the competition is really heating up. Kurt accepts the fact that Blaine deserves the lead male role, and decides to focus his attention on beating Brittany for class president. But, the directors still need to choose who will play Maria, the lead female role. Will it be Rachel or Mercedes?
The two go head to head in a diva-off, similar to last season when they sang ‘Take Me or Leave Me’. The directors decide that the two girls performed equally, and decide to offer them both the part and double cast the role. Rachel accepts, but Mercedes declines, thinking she is better than the competition. In an act of defiance, she quits New Directions and joins Shelby’s (Rachel’s mom) new glee club.
Dancing Dreams
Mike’s parents are less than thrilled with his grades after he receives what they call an Asian F, which is actually an A-. They tell him that unless his grades go up he needs to drop out of glee club and quit the school musical. At first he agrees, but then realizes that dancing is his true passion. He decides to audition for a singing part in the musical.
