Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Portal 2, Final Fantasy IV, and Yar's Revenge!
Portal 2
Portal 2 is finally here for your PC, PS3, or Xbox 360, continuing the story of Valve's hugely-acclaimed physics first-person puzzler from 2007. Like in the original, puzzles must be solved with your portal gun, which allows you to create a warpzone between virtually any two points, a power that has more potential than you may think. In this game, GLaDOS has returned and she's rebuilding the destroyed Aperture Science Laboratory, forcing you into more puzzles. Also, there's a co-operative mode in which you and a friend play as two different robots with portal guns who have to work together to solve puzzles.
Final Fantasy IV
Your PSP can now recreate the classic RPG story and gameplay of Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and Interlude, a special new gameplay scenario that bridges the two stories. The graphics are upgraded with new CG cutscenes and the music's been redone, bringing the game's look up to current standards while maintaining the classic storyline. Definitely a great way to remember how awesome the Final Fantasy series used to be, not the weird MMO stage it's in now.
Yar's Revenge
Once upon a time, in 1981 actually, there was an original title for the Atari 2600 called Yars' Revenge. In it, you played as this space bug thing that destroyed a big space thing. Graphics weren't that great then, but trust me, this game was awesome. Now a remake is out for the Xbox Live Arcade, pending release for PC and PS3, and it's, uh, different. You're an anime-style mech girl, which is kind of different from a bug, but hey, you do get revenge on things! I think.
