Ariana Grande grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, and was interested in theatre since she was a little girl. She performed at the Little Palm Theatre for Young People and Fort Lauderdale’s Children’s Theatre. In 2008 she decided to try Broadway, and was cast as Charlotte in the musical 13, the first Broadway production to have an all-teen cast. She starred with Liz Gilles, who went on to work with her on Victorious.

In 2009, Ariana was cast in the Nickelodeon show Victorious. The show, which premiered in March 2010, is about a group of students attending a performing arts high school in California. Ariana plays the role of Cat Valentine, a close friend of the main character Tori. Her character is a drama queen that over-reacts about everything. Although her character may be high maintenance on the show, in real life Ariana is down-to-earth and friendly.

Ariana went on to star in a spin-off show called Sam & Cat with Jennette McCurdy, where their characters from Victorious (Sam & Cat, of course) decide to become roommates and start their own baby-sitting business.

Even though Ariana had a devoted Nickelodeon fan base, she'd been sitting on one of her true dreams for a long time - a music career!

When she released her album debut album Yours Truly in 2013, she unleashed vocal power to rival some of the greatest divas of the last twenty years - she even admits that singers like Mariah Carey are an inspiration for her sound. One of the singles on the album was "Baby, I" - check it out below!

Ariana followed up Yours Truly with the album My Everything in 2014, and topped the charts with the singles "Problem" featuring Iggy Azalea and "Break Free" featuring Zedd. Ariana didn't leave acting behind for good though, she is a recurring character on FOX's Scream Queens.
