Last night’s American Music Awards 2010 definitely satisfied our hunger for celebrity red carpet fashion! Not only were all the stars out in full force - almost everyone went all out glam and looked amazing! There’s nothing we love more than all of our favorite celebrities battling it out for best and worst dressed on the red carpet. Some would say it’s the best part about award shows - other than the performances of course! It was definitely Justin Bieber’s night to shine as he beat out veteran performers to win Artist of the Year, Favorite Album and Breakthrough Artist! Last year’s big winner, Taylor Swift took home the Favorite Country Female Artist Award. Now onto the fashion......
Best Dressed
There were definitely some noticeable trends that emerged last night on the red carpet. We saw sequins galore on everyone from Katy Perry to Fergie while Rihanna and Heidi Klum wore head to toe lace! One of our favorite looks was Katy Perry who looked perfectly angelic in simple strapless dress with pale baby pink sequins - looked great with her dark hair and blue eyes! Mandy Moore looked super chic in a long sleeve beige mini-dress with pops of blue and yellow paired with patent nude shoes and glossy hair. Taylor Swift looked great in some new blunt cut bangs and a short silver heavily sequined dress. Whitney Port looked very chic and pretty in a simple one shoulder ruched and belted purple print dress paired with a sleek updo. Avril Lavigne looked adorable in a black and white optical illusion dress that went perfectly with the pink streaks in her hair!
Worst dressed
We always appreciate it when people make original fashion choices at events but sometimes we just wish they chose something a bit more stylish and flattering. Miley Cyrus’ hair and makeup looked amazing but it was ruined by her white mini-dress with long white train. The strange train looked more like toilet paper than a part of the dress. Willow Smith always manages to look unique and cool but this time her strange yellow shoulder piece, slouchy boots and odd cotton onesie was all together a bad fashion choice. Fergie takes sequins to new levels with a peacock-inspired sequin dress - an idea that could have been beautiful if the dress wasn’t so short and ill-fitting. And those shoulders were just a touch too “real peacock feather” for our liking. Rihanna matched her new red curls to a reddish colored floor length lace dress that was very see-through. Not one to be left out of the spotlight,Kesha looked positively ghoulish in her black outfit and goth accessories.
