The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Blu-Ray/DVD

Nov 18, 2010

Nicholas Cage and former child actor and rising star, Jay Baruchel, will leave you spellbound in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Merlin’s Three Apprentices

It all began many centuries ago. Merlin the sorcerer had three talented apprentices. But one betrayed the others and joined the evil Morgana in her plot to destroy mankind. One of the apprentices, Veronica, made a brave sacrifice, one that trapped her and Morgana in a Russian nesting doll. For hundreds of years, the last apprentice, Balthazar Blake, searched the globe for the Prime Merlinian…the only person in the world who can kill Morgana.

The Scientific Sorcerer

Dave Stutler is just your average 20 year old physics nerd living in Manhattan. Until he meets Balthazar, a sorcerer who believes that Dave has the potential to follow in his magical footsteps. Balthazar trains Dave as his apprentice, teaching him to conduct fire and electricity. Of course, controlling electricity comes easy to Dave, given his obsession with physics.

Love and Magic

But when Dave gets reacquainted with his childhood crush, sorcery slips to number 2 on his priority list. Unfortunately, Horvath (Merlin’s traitor apprentice) is back. And he wants to kill Dave and unleash Morgana. Dave needs to prepare himself for Horvath’s attack, and Morgana’s evil plans. If he doesn’t master his magical skills in time, more than just his own life will be in danger.

The Bottom Line

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the best magical adventure movie since Harry Potter. It combines sorcery, humor, a few corny lines (but that’s part of the charm), and more than one love story. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will appeal to every member of your family. Jay Barushel is just as hilarious and awkward as ever. And Nicholas Cage proves once again that he can play any role. Definitely check out The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
