Megamind is back to conquer evil and restore peace in Megamind: The Blue Defender for Nintendo DS. Read the review here!
Hot on the trail of the newly released Megamind movie from DreamWorks is Megamind: The Blue Defender for Nintendo DS. The evil Doom Syndicate has arrived and is trying to take over the newly peaceful city. Only one guy – or alien – can defend the city and save the day. Megamind needs to journey across the city, collecting weapons and conquering Tighten, the head of the Doom Syndicate.
Megamind to the Rescue!
Players experience the game as Megamind, the likeable blue alien. Everyone begins with one weapon: the Mega Blaster. The Mega Blaster fires blasts of energy and knocks over potential enemies. Throughout the game players need to collect the rest of the weapons, including the Electric Lasso, the Expand-O-Matic, the Fusion Bouncer and the Doom Barrage. Megamind accrues more power as he discovers each weapon.
Challenging Tasks
Megamind: The Blue Defender is an action-adventure game that allows the player to experience the game in their own unique way. Players need to accomplish a variety of tasks in order to track down Tighten, but there are often more than one way to go about completing them. The game leads the player in the right direction, but allows enough room for players to make mistakes. Because of this the game can be challenging in parts, especially if you are unsure of what your next move should be.
Once you master the basic weapon it is easy to progress through the first challenges. If you are looking for a video game that is a bit more challenging and involves strategic thinking, this is the one for you. The story is a bit bland compared to the movie, but is interesting enough to hold the attention of most players.
